We collect information you provide directly when you create an account, complete an assessment, or contact us. This includes:

  • Account information: Name, email address, company name (for employers), and password.
  • Assessment data: Responses to behavioral scenarios, response timing, and self-ranking selections.
  • Payment information: Processed securely through Razorpay. We do not store card details on our servers.
  • Usage data: Browser type, device information, and interaction patterns for improving our service.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To generate behavioral assessment reports for candidates and employers.
  • To improve our scoring algorithms and assessment quality.
  • To send transactional emails (invitations, OTP verification, assessment completion).
  • To prevent fraud, abuse, and maintain platform security.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. Assessment results are shared only with:

  • The employer who invited the candidate (employer view includes full report).
  • The candidate themselves (limited view without dominance risk or flag details).

We use Anthropic's Claude API for AI-enhanced analysis. Data sent to the AI is used solely for generating your report and is not retained by the AI provider for training purposes.

4. Data Security

All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest. We use Azure-managed encryption for database storage. Access to production systems is restricted to authorized personnel only.

5. Data Retention

Assessment data is retained for the duration of the employer's active account. Candidates may request deletion of their assessment data by contacting us at support@ontohire.com.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your data.
  • Withdraw consent for data processing.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. The mini assessment uses a local storage marker and cookie to limit attempts per device, with a 30-day cooldown before retakes are allowed. We do not use third-party tracking cookies.
